Two out of three businesses now automate their customer support

The share of customer support organizations using agentic AI (not just automated replies, but agents that resolve things on their own) jumped from 39% to 66% between 2025 and 2026, a 1.7x increase in just twelve months.

The figure comes from a Salesforce report published in May 2026, surveying more than 3,000 customer support professionals worldwide. The same study found that 85% of service organizations already use some form of AI, and that 70% of those adopting AI agents see measurable results within the first 60 days.
